#20DaysWithWords Day 5
Write About What Your Dream Home Looks and Feels Like
I wake up on my own to the sunrise. The floor to ceiling windows in my bedroom create the perfect space to let natural light gently rub me into consciousness. After my morning meditation and affirmations, I go into my bathroom, which constantly smells of lavender, and walk into my large steam shower. The lights on the floor and ceiling of the shower shine from himalayan salt lamps that I’ve had installed. After gliding my way through my morning routine, I go into the kitchen and walk directly outside to my garden where I have everything growing from herbs, to tea, to produce of all kinds. I talk with my plants for a bit before coming back inside to rest on the cool countertops that are crystal quartz. After my morning tea and breakfast, I head to my office. My desk, cherry oak of course, is already organized with the day’s tasks and agenda. Once the day is done, I have some reflection time in my living room which is dressed up in blues of every shade. The couch is plush and sits in front of a table that I made with my mother, across from that an entire wall is filled with books. I read and have quiet time here before resting my body and starting again tomorrow.

In a perfect world I'll live in a brownstone just like the Huxtable's. A three story home, complete with a finished basement that will be my office/library. One of my favorite things about the Huxtable's brownstone was that there were two entrances to the kitchen. You could either come in through the living room OR there was also a flight of stairs that led from the kitchen straight to the upstairs bedrooms. Clutch! It was a four bedroom home and since I don't intend on having any other kids besides the one I already have, the possibilities are endless! A den, a guest room, a gym, anything! Just thinking about it has me itching to go to Hobby Lobby. But the absolute BEST part about this home is that it was in the middle of the city! They got to have this warm, safe, "family friendly" home and still be hip right in the center of Brooklyn! Of course my brownstone will be in Hyde Park or the downtown Chicago area. Either way, it's lit! This is the dream. But to be honest I'm a strong believer in home is where the heart is. So as long as I'm happy and my daughter is happy I don't really need much else.
