#20DaysWithWords Day 6
Explain Why Your Favorite Song Is Your Favorite Song
I have many favorite songs, so for this, I will just choose Doves in the Wind by SZA. Not only is this song beautifully written, like all of SZA's songs, but the shining word throughout is: pussy. Pussy is a beautiful word and when sung as pretty as SZA sings it, it just reminds me of the beauty and delicacy of what pussy is. It makes me want to do right by my pussy. Well, even more right than usual. It reminds me that my pussy's wellness and pleasure is my priority and no one else's. You can never trivialize pussy, so I treat mine right.

It's strange to me that when I thought of my favorite song it wasn't by one of my favorite artists. I've never tried to narrow down my favorite to just one song, but I always assumed it would be an Usher or Brandy record. Maybe Jay-Z or Lil Kim, but it was neither of these amazing artists. The first song that popped into my head was Hopeless by Dionne Farris. I absolutely adore this song. It's a comfort for me. It brings me back to childhood road trips and it being my mom's turn to drive. Besides her never ending library of Prince CD's, I mainly remember her playing the Love Jones soundtrack. My brother and I would be nestled in the back seat using our jackets as blankets. The window would be cracked allowing just the right amount of chill in the air. And as I faded in and out of sleep I'd hear Dionne Farris singing about how Hopeless she is. I guess it's actually a sad song when I think about it, but it's always made me smile.
