JOURNEY ON JETT
Jett, as she is affectionately referred to, is a jack of many trades. She is a journalist, an entrepreneur, and humanitarian. Currently she is working for an after-school program that focuses on improving the lives of high risk children who face everyday obstacles in their inner city neighborhoods
She has traveled to Haiti and back giving herself freely to all of God’s creatures and wanting nothing but the wellbeing of others in return. In the midst of many passion projects, she has now started another, journeyonjett.com. It was here that I personally became fond of Jett. This website is a blog that allows the rest of the world to follow Jett on her spiritual and physical journey through life.
Here at YeMash we are all about empowering Women. Trust me, if we could we would go around the world single handedly joining forces with every remarkable Woman there is, and then reenacting a subpar yet still amazing version of Beyonce’s “Run the World”. However, like most seemingly amazing ideas, it is almost impossible. Which brings me to my next amazing idea to celebrate Women here at YeMash the best way we know how. Writing! This week’s spotlight is on fellow blogger Brittany Jett!
Of course, in true Jett fashion, she has to give something back to the people. She’s created something wonderful, “Jett gems”! Every so often, Jett leaves a “gem” or word of encouragement on her blog for her readers. My personal favorite is from Feb. 27, 2017 where she wrote:
LADIES LISTEN UP, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! As Women, we so often get down on ourselves. We are so willing to bend and break ourselves in order to gain love, acceptance, or success that we don’t realize we’re in pieces until it’s too late. Some of us never learn how to put those pieces back together.
I don’t know if this is true for everybody, but in my circle of friends and family I am everyone’s biggest cheerleader. I fight for you, cry for you, be whatever my loved ones need, and dare anyone to hurt them. BUT it’s so easy to discount myself or make light of my own efforts. It was so nice to be reminded “you need you”. Thank you Jett. So, please do yourselves a favor and join me and countless others as we follow Jett’s Journey.
