July Affirmations

I share the sentiments of a Twitter meme that I saw this week: July, please come in here like you have some sense. We’ve been through quite enough. As we swing into the second half of this pretty ridiculous year, I’m thinking about the things that I can control. I can’t control any of what’s happened to us this year. I can’t control whether those things remain at play or give us a damn break. The only thing I can control is me. My thoughts. My reactions. My perspective. 

As I’m sure many people have, I’ve had moments of major weakness within the past couple of months. I’ve felt powerless and out of control. Anxious and negative. So, today, I choose to choose. I can choose to have those negative feelings just be visitors, and not a reflection of who I really am. I can choose to be who I really am. This brings me to this month’s quote: 

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” -Carl Jung

As my Forever First Lady says, we are all becoming. At any given moment, we can choose to become who we really want to be. Here are some affirmations to guide us into this power. 

I choose to be my highest self. 

I observe what happens and take my time choosing my reactions. 

I am at peace even when surrounded by chaos. 

I choose to not be swayed out of my positive perspective. 

I choose to see others for their highest selves. 

I choose to be my kindest to others. 

I choose calm and ease. 

I approach everything with grace and compassion. 

I choose to enjoy each moment. 

I easily find the best of every situation. 

I stand firm in my position, facing the bright side. 

Breathe. Things may be a bit wild, but your home frequency remains equipped with all you need to access your calm. Keep your focus and know that you are okay. More importantly, know that you are who you choose to be.
